ANNUAL EVENTS

MAY

Feast of the Ste. Claire

Memorial Day weekend means tents, campfires, and 600 re-enactors in Pine Grove Park. Experience the fun and flavor of 18th century life.

JUNE

Be a Tourist in Your Own Hometown

The many sites of the Port Huron Museum, in conjunction with other local attractions, open their doors free of admission on the first Saturday in June.

Marine Mart

This event attracts vendors of nautical memorabilia and equipment from throughout the Midwest. The general public is welcome to see and shop the merchandise during the Be a Tourist in Your Own Hometown Day, on the first Saturday of June. In 2009, this event will again be hosted by Acheson Ventures at the Seaway Terminal.

Log Cabin Day

An annual statewide event, held on the last Sunday of June, the log cabin on the grounds of the Main Museum is opened to the public. Re-enactors present aspects of pioneer life.

JULY

Coast Guard Days

A city-wide event in August, a variety of ceremonies, demonstrations, and activities celebrate the Coast Guard's longtime presence in Port Huron. The Port Huron Museum's sites of the Huron Lightship, the USCG Cutter Bramble, and the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse join the City of Port Huron in honoring the men and women of the United States Coast Guard.

SEPTEMBER

World Festival

Formerly known as the International Festival of World Cultures, this annual September event celebrates the history, art, and food of many countries. Once again to be held at Acheson Ventures' Seaway Terminal, join us for a Mexican tamale, German spaetzle, Guatemalan coffee, and other international treats.

OCTOBER

SCREAM DEPOT

Not for the faint of heart, join the big kids for a haunting good time at the Thomas Edison Depot last two weekends in October.

In addition to the public programs and annual events listed here, please know that specialized workshops and presentations are continually developed to augment the rotating schedule of exhibitions.

If you have any questions, or would like to register for one of these programs or events, please call Holly Modock, (810) 982-0891, ext. 118.
